Maryland Access Point

Maryland Access Point (MAP) is a statewide program that provides information and referral services over the phone and in the office. Information specialists link the caller or visitor to organizations that provide services to older persons and persons of all ages with disabilities, send printed material about services or assist in completing applications for benefits and services.

Call the MAP Office in your county for information about services that are available. If your loved one lives outside Maryland, check the Eldercare Locator to locate resources. To see what financial benefits you may be eligible for go to Benefits Checkup.org.

Continuing Care Retirement Communities

There are many types of communities dedicated to older residents. The age for entering these facilities varies. The Baltimore County Department of Aging provides a listing of Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) in Baltimore County.

Continuing Care at Home

Provides access to total care from independent living through assisted living to nursing home care. An up-front fee plus a monthly fee is required. Different contract options are available.
