Many continuing care retirement communities provide everything that is needed, from a bank to a beauty salon/barber shop, to a special medical clinic where a physician can be seen. Rooms are usually equipped with safety and security devices, including railings for getting in and out of the bathtub, and a system to check on whether the resident has left the apartment. Hallways usually have safety rails and proper lighting. Security is also provided for the facility entrance and grounds.
